On July 14th, East Side Pockets – a recent “Best of Rhode Island” award winner and popular family-owned restaurant on Thayer Street, celebrated its 29th year anniversary.
Alexi Boutros, Second-Generation Owner, tells the 411:
“For our family, celebrating 29 years of East Side Pockets is about much more than reaching another anniversary. It represents the journey from coming to this country from Syria to building something that has supported our family and become part of the community. The restaurant was built through years of hard work, sacrifice, and the hope of creating something meaningful for the next generation. Now, seeing the second generation grow up around the business makes this milestone even more special. East Side Pockets has become more than just a restaurant to us because it gives us the opportunity to share our food and culture with the community every day. We are proud that after 29 years, we are still serving many of the same people and families who have supported us from the beginning. Making our customers happy and seeing them continue to come back is what keeps us motivated. We are thankful for every customer, employee, friend, and family member who has been part of this journey. Reaching 29 years reminds us where we started, how far we have come, and how grateful we are to continue serving our community.”
