Message from The Arabic Education Foundation on their sixtieth anniversary banquet:
The Arabic Education Foundation is hosting a banquet, aka, a Hafla in Arabic to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of our founding. The event begins on October 3rd, 2026, from 6PM to 11PM at Saint Basil’s the Melkite Catholic Church in Lincoln, Rhode Island. The event includes a full meal catered by Kaza Maza, a cash bar, dance performances by our local church youth groups and speeches from former contributors of the foundation.
The Arabic Educational Foundation (AEF) was founded in 1966 as a non-profit organization by local Blackstone Valley Arab American Educators and Businessmen. Our efforts throughout the years are to provide financial assistance to high school and college students of Arab American descent. It is our goal as a Non-Profit to ensure 100% of all donations are awarded as scholarships to award recipients. Over the past sixty years, we have awarded at least 500 financial and academic scholarships for the amount of $250,000.
We have two goals for our sixtieth anniversary banquet. Our first goal is to fundraise to fund scholarships for our next application period so we can offer as many grants as possible. Our second goal is to celebrate the legacy of our foundation and pay respect to our past members of the board and recipients who made it possible for our foundation to continue operating.
All ticket proceeds go to cover the expense of operating the banquet and scholarships for our next application period. If you are interested in purchasing tickets or have questions, please email Arabic.ed1966@gmail.com for Sharon Raheb, or contact Donna Raheb at 4019543044.
