Lincoln beats Barrington 2-1 Thursday night to force a winner takes all game on Friday with a trip to Regionals on the line. This is how it happened:
In the bottom of the first, Lincoln loaded the bases quick. Jackson Lockhart lead off with a single to left, Luca Martinelli reached on a hit by pitch, and Milo Sheridan, Lincoln’s starting pitcher, hit a single.
Lincoln plated two of the runners on sacrifice fly’s by both John Rattigan and Hugo Fiero to bring Lincoln to an early 2-0 lead.
Lincoln’s 2-run first inning decided to play large in this low scoring affair.
Milo Sheridan was fantastic on the mound for Lincoln: 12 strikeouts, 2 hits, 1 walk, and 1 earned run on 87 pitches.
Tucker Choniere came in for one batter and secured the win.
Due to Lincoln coming out of the losers bracket, there is one more game to be played between these two teams.
