Councilman Michael Iannotti indicated today that reversing the Town’s shrinking savings will require proven leaders who take a professional approach to fiscal matters.
According to Iannotti, this begins with the re-election of Councilwoman Rachel Toppi who has demonstrated that she is well versed in many issues and courageous in her ability to ask difficult questions, the election of experienced businesswoman Kathy Gaidimas, Bryant University Professor Ken Sousa who has served for several years on the Smithfield Budget and Financial Review Board, and robotics engineer Bobby Nikolopoulos who served on the Smithfield Economic Development Commission. In addition to his four years on the Town Council, Iannotti previously served on the Smithfield Financial Review Commission, Budget Board, and Capital Committee.
“Our good government team of five professionals have the knowledge and experience necessary to solve the fiscal problems that threaten our Town while preserving the excellent services upon which our residents rely”.
